The Human Capital database is the result of a project undertaken with the Bancaja Foundation. It contains a wide range of information on how education levels in Spain have evolved, classified according to the level of studies completed and other human capital indicators.
The
Human Capital Series includes data at a national level covering the period 1964-2007, as well as provincial and autonomous community data (1977-2007). This series presents the evolution of the working-age population in relation to their occupation and level of studies completed. Population data is also provided according to branches of activity and level of education, as well as average years of study and human capital indicators based on personal characteristics (age, sex, level of education), and the differences in salary associated with them.
The complete database can be downloaded in
self-extracting format for Windows, or in WinZip
compressed format.
The
Methodology for Estimating the Human Capital Series 1964-2007, is also available with the database. This document describes the procedures used in preparing this series.
The previous
Human Capital Series (1964-2004) can also be consulted with its corresponding methodology. (Enlace a una página con los correspondientes enlaces a las series y la metodología). In addition to extending the temporal period covered, the Human Capital Series 1964-2007 has taken into account the methodological changes introduced in the Economically Active Population Survey (EAPS). Also new to the study is that the disaggregation has increased according to education levels for the period 1977-2007, providing the average years of studies completed and a human capital indicator which combines information on wages and personal characteristics.
Various studies have been developed within the framework of the Human Capital project. The
Human Capital Notes, which summarize the main results to emerge from this project, are also available.
